Prime Minister approved the Development Plan for Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to become one of the leading higher education institutions in Asia.

On March 25, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 663/QĐ-TTg approving the Development Plan for Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to become one of the leading higher education institutions in Asia.

The plan aims to develop Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) into a modern higher education institution, ranked among the leading universities in Asia in the fields of engineering and technology. It seeks to establish HUST as a center of excellence for education, talent development, research, and innovation, serving as a leader in Vietnam’s higher education system in strategic technology and industrial sectors, including: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, electronics, semiconductors and chips, digital technology, robotics and automation, energy, environment, biotechnology, and advanced materials … Additionally, the university is expected to make a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Hanoi, the Red River Delta region, and the entire country.

 

By 2035, HUST aims to be the nation’s leading center for research and innovation in science, engineering, and technology. The university strives to rank among the top 100–150 universities in Asia according to reputable international ranking systems.

 

By 2045, HUST aims to become one of the top 100 universities in Asia in engineering and technology, recognized regionally and globally for its contributions to science, technology, and innovation. The university is expected to play a crucial role in advancing Vietnam’s higher education system and contribute significantly to the socio-economic growth of Hanoi, the Red River Delta, and the country as a whole.
