Research topic "Control power and improve transmission efficiency in electric vehicle charging system" which is carried out by 4 students in the Control Engineering and Automation training programe under the supervisor of Dr. Nguyen Kien Trung won the first prize in the 2019 Student Scientific Research Competition of SEE is selected by the University as one of 10 subjects representing for Hanoi University of Science and Technology to attend the Ministry level Competition. The research team members include: Trinh Sy Dong (KT ĐK & TDH 05 K60; Nguyen Hong Son (KT ĐK & TDH 06 K60); Nguyen Van Trieu (KT ĐK & TDH 03 K60) and Nguyen Trong Hung (KT ĐK) & TDH 05 K60).
Electric cars are now being encouraged to use with many advantages such as environmental friendliness, small noise progression and no dependence on fossil fuel sources etc. Wireless power transmission technology is the main development direction in research of dynamic charging system for electric cars.
Under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Kien Trung, a group of students who have succeeded in designing two-sided LCC compensation for charging systems with rated power of 1.5 kW, 85 kHz frequency according to the structure of 3 transmitting coil and 1 receiving coil to improve the charging efficiency for electric cars up to 96%. The power on the load is controlled stably with the control deviation less than 0.55%. The results of the research have practical implications and high applicability because the demand for electric cars in Vietnam is expected to increase in the future.
In addition to the laboratory model, the authors have published two conference papers the IEEE-ICPE 2019 - ECCE ASIA which is one of the world's leading prestigious scientific conference in the field of Power Electronics and Power Transmission.
Again, congratulations Dr. Nguyen Kien Trung and students.
