On October 2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bach Mai Hospital to effectively promote and develop cooperative activities in training, scientific research, services, and other potential areas of mutual interest.
At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Đào Xuân Cơ, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared: "With the ambition to transform Bach Mai Hospital into a specialized center for training and research in basic medical and pharmaceutical sciences, we continuously look to renowned institutions worldwide and strive to find partners who can help us become a leading medical center in Vietnam, on par with regional and international counterparts. Hanoi University of Science and Technology is the best university in Vietnam for basic science training, and I hope that collaborating with the university will help Bach Mai's clinical scientists to exploit and process our vast data repository."

Also at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Quyết Thắng, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, emphasized: "HUST's goal is to work alongside our partners to quickly contribute to and benefit society."

As Vietnam's leading university of science and technology, HUST maximizes its strength in training talent for the nation. HUST students not only possess strong, in-depth professional knowledge but also well-trained through internships and work at reputable organizations to hone and enhance their practical skills.
The two parties also agreed to accelerate the implementation of cooperative activities. Leveraging their close geographical proximity—separated only by a single road—HUST and Bach Mai Hospital aim to intensify their working pace, unleashing the maximum creative energy of their faculty and scientists to achieve results as quickly as possible.

During the working session, the two parties discussed potential areas for immediate collaboration. In training, HUST and Bach Mai Hospital will coordinate on curriculum development and participate in training for bachelor's programs in Biomedical Engineering and Food Technology (with a focus on Nutrition and Health); jointly develop and train in related fields of life science and health science; HUST will support the training of Bach Mai Hospital staff in applying AI in clinical practice and organizational management, and assist the hospital in enhancing the capacity of the basic science departments at Bach Mai Medical College.
In return, Bach Mai Hospital will support advanced professional and technical training for the staff of the HUST Health Center; coordinate the implementation of basic first-aid training for HUST faculty and students; collaborate on practical training and internships for Biomedical Engineering students in particular and HUST students in general; cooperate in receiving and organizing observational visits on Food Safety for nutrition students/trainees; and collaborate on teaching, training, internship supervision, and co-supervising theses for students in related majors from HUST's Schools/Departments, such as the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the School of Chemical and Life Science, and the School of Engineering Physics.

In scientific research, the two institutions will jointly research, develop, and apply 3D printing solutions for therapeutic, rehabilitative, and medical training purposes; research and develop AI applications for the healthcare sector; research and develop technological solutions for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention; research and develop specialized products for patients; research and develop robotics in medical practice; and build a Big Data platform in medicine.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology proposed establishing points of contact for each area of cooperation. The university expressed its desire to regularly monitor and track progress during the collaboration to achieve positive results swiftly.
