The Department of Automation Engineering was established on November 18, 2021, as Hanoi University of Science and Technology transitioned to the "School within University" governance model in accordance with previously issued Education Law regulations. The Department of Automation Engineering is one of four specialized schools within the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, restructured from three specialized departments: Measurement Engineering & Industrial Informatics, Automatic Control, and Industrial Automation, with 65 faculty members including 2 Professors, 23 Associate Professors, and 25 PhDs. The majority of the Department's faculty members have received comprehensive training at prestigious universities worldwide.
The Department of Automation Engineering annually enrolls approximately 650 students across 4 training programs in Control Engineering and Automation:
Standard Control Engineering and Automation program (EE2): 500 students/year
Advanced Control and Automation program (EE-E8): 120 students/year
Vietnam-France PFIEV Industrial Informatics and Automation program (EE-EP): 40 students/year
Talented Control and Automation program (EE-TN): 40 students/year
