Phòng thí nghiệm Nghiên cứu Máy điện Hiệu năng cao (High-performance Electric Machines Laboratory – HPEM Lab) được thành lập năm 2023 do TS. Phùng Anh Tuấn phụ trách. Hiện nay, phòng thí nghiệm có 11 thành viên gồm giảng viên, nghiên cứu viên và học viên cao học.

Phòng thí nghiệm tập trung nghiên cứu và phát triển các công nghệ liên quan đến máy điện hiệu suất cao, hệ truyền động điện, điện khí hóa giao thông, sản xuất thông minh và chuyển đổi số trong công nghiệp. Các hướng nghiên cứu chính bao gồm thiết kế và tối ưu hóa máy điện; hệ thống truyền động cho xe điện và UAV; giám sát, chẩn đoán tình trạng thiết bị điện bằng trí tuệ nhân tạo; nhà máy số và bảo trì dự báo; hệ thống năng lượng thông minh; cùng các giải pháp tích hợp điện tử công suất và điều khiển tiên tiến cho các ứng dụng công nghiệp và năng lượng.
