Bà Trần Thị Thảo nhận học vị Tiến sĩ Kỹ thuật Điện năm 2016 của trường Đại học Quốc Lập Trung Ương Đài Loan. Hiện tại Bà Trần Thị Thảo là Giảng viên cao cấp tại Khoa Tự động hóa, Trường Điện - Điện tử, Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội. Các hướng nghiên cứu quan tâm hiện tại bao gồm: Thị giác máy tính, AI, Kỹ thuật học sâu, Xử lý tín hiệu, Xử lý ảnh.
